Microsoft 365 Implementation

Let’s talk Microsoft 365 Implementation. Microsoft 365 (formally Office365) is Microsoft’s subscription version of its ubiquitous office suite that has been around since 1989. The powerful scalability and versatile features make it a valuable tool for offices of any size, in any business. Features previously only available with on-premises servers and big infrastructures are now available in a matter of minutes with an internet connection and a reasonable subscription fee. One big advantage of a subscription version of Office is that you always have the latest and greatest version for all users eliminating any compatibility issues.

Microsoft 365 Implementation Explained

Why the new name?

In April 2020 Microsoft gave Office 365 a new name. What was Office 365 is now Microsoft 365.  With the new name, Microsoft is adding features that will increase the value of the subscription. Here are a some of the new features:

The new Microsoft Editor. The new editor will expand on the current writing aids found in the office suite and like Grammarly will give suggestions on style of writing.

In Power Point there is a new ‘rehearse’ feature. This feature will listen to you speak and detect things such as filler words (um…, and…, a…, etc.) and monotone speech. Once detected, it will make suggestions to improve your presentation.

Excel will get new tools that will incorporate financial management tools that will do things like pull in information from financial institutions.  In addition other tools will provide datatypes from a list that will look up and insert information about that datatype.

Outlook calendars will get a feature allowing you to combine multiple calendars into one.
